[RESOLVED] An Internal Error Occurred

Archived from community support channel. Created 1/9/2026
OP
https://docs.lovable.dev/integrations/github Ok the main question is. If the repo has been changed in the git. We had an issue here and the ripo has been definitely affected. Is it a way to get back to the code? Do you have a backup on your side? Only the actual last version could be perfect. I still see the code in the editor. So i suppose the code is still somewhere? Thanks a lot for your help on this. This mistake is very bad for me... @Olof @Whitney @s1eepy
!
It doesn't work

When I try to disconnect my git:
!
I've deleted some branches in my git Is this the problem?
S
have you tried refreshing your entire browser?
!
HEllo
!
Chat doesn't work anymore
S
that might have happened, lovable sometimes breaks a lot in chat though
S
usually a refresh solves it
!
no backup
!
Do you need the project ID?
!
the repo is empty
!
and now I cannot have access to my code anymore
!
I had a problem with git
!
And the git has been modified
!
no remix
S
Ok, so the first step you should try is just closing all browser tabs
!
The app is in prod and the editor is broken
S
no sorry, as I'm not like a mod or anything but I can definitely help a little
!
But I think Git Broked something
S
and re-opening everything again
S
re-log into lovable and then go back into your project
!
YEss
!
OK I'll do it
!
and now lovable is down
S
did you connect your project to github?
!
I cannot have access to my code anymore
!
And the git has been modified I deleted some branches
!
I deleted some branches
!
I tried to deleted the repo and setup a fresh one
S
I would recommend asking @Olof if there's a way to get credits you might have wasted back
S
Can you try reverting through github?
!
No revert on git
!
but it seems this broked the editor connections
!
Is it possible to get the code back?
S
ahh, I bet you that's what caused that issue. Is because you manually deleted some branches lovable broke
S
try reverting through lovable
S
oh damn
!
No
S
you should also be able to revert within lovable itself
!
The repo has been deleted
!
Ok i try now
S
let me know if that works
S
best thing I would tell you, is to just restart fresh again (sadly)
S
yeah so because you deleted the entire repo it basically broke everything
!
SeriouslyN?
S
that sucks
!
It's published in prid
S
My best recommendation would be to wait for @Olof to get back online and ask him
S
lovable might store users history in the backend
S
if I request access would that be okay?
!
I used 2+++k tokend and 2 month on this project
S
that might be a good solution
S
Well I already mentioned him here, so he should see it when he gets online
!
A version of the code?
!
OK thank you very much
S
if I see him online when you don't, I'll ask him
!
Ok thanks when?
S
if i see him online when you don't, I'll ask him
!
studio.ab-arts.be
!
And the project ID https://lovable.dev/projects/75295b90-42c1-425f-8196-601098373dcb?view=codeEditor
!
Seriously? Is lovable stored everything in git?
!
this is the link in prod
!
If it's possible to disconnect the git and get back to the editor it could be great
!
if it's possible to disconnect the git and get back to the editor it could be great
!
You mean... I tought it was a backup
S
that might be a good solution (edited)
U
Seriously?
S
however I didnt make my project with github, so I'm not sure if lovable is storing everything on github
S
if i request access would that be okay?
!
I tHink
!
I have the preview
S
does it show an error message when you do?
S
I'm not sure how they're doing their codebase in that term
!
Djeezzz
U
Is lovable stored everything in git?
U
if the full code is stocked to git without backup on lovable
S
I believe it should've just been rendered as a backup
!
All in lovable
!
And connected to git directly
!
I think
S
does it show an error me
!
so the database is ok
S
if it's all in lovable, are you able to view the code inside the project?
!
If the full code is stocked to git without backup on lovable
S
should be like this
!
It's not clear
S
if it's all in lovable, are you able to view the code inside the project:
!
you should have a very big disclamer
!
you should have a very big disclaimer
S
what about the cloud?
!
but
!
Stuck on "starting live preview"
!
Yess
!
It's in prod
!
and some clients use it right now
S
does that say the same thing
!
I tried on several browsers
!
The repo is empty
!
That old version is working
!
I just had the good idea to remix it the 25th nov
!
and the lovable editor is stuck on internal error and starting live preview...
S
fuhhhh i hope you're not cooked
!
hard refresh
!
If it's the case, I spended 2 months on this
S
fuhhhhh i hope you're not cooked
S
thats good
S
hopefully olof can help
!
So i have an old version
!
And I bought 160++ euros of tokens
!
since 25th nov
!
So I have an old version
S
did that work?
!
But i did a lot of modifications since that version
!
If its possible to get back to a backup on your side
S
fuhhhh
S
fuhhhhh
!
I mean it's better than losing all your work
!
But the actual one is broken
S
@Whitney could try asking whitney as well abt this
S
hmm
!
Hello @Whitney
!
Thanks
!
but the editor is still broken
!
I did this
!
Hello Folks Any input for me?
!
Are you doing something? The visual of the code is back
!
Could you help me on this? @Whitney @Olof ?
!
Hi Olof
!
:))
!
Is it possible to get back to 100% lovable without git?
!
Could you help me on this. @... @... .
O
@[!!OuttaSoul!!] hey so we don't store a copy on our side after transferring (this is a very explicit modal on connection). I believe your best bet is to try to get github to restore your original repository: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/restoring-a-deleted-repository
!
I see that the Git restore feature just restored the code ti the 4th nov max
U
did you make it with lovable first then connect github?
!
