Is it still possible to build apps using Supabase with Lovable as previously? Is Lovable Cloud built on top of Supabase and just automating integration or is it an entirely new and proprietary backend?

Currently not possible to convert supabase to cloud or disconnect from supabase and start using cloud on EXISTING projects.

Cloud and AI are available/operational for all. You cannot enable it to a project that is already connceted to Supabase. (edited)

I didn't find this question here in the chat, the edge functions in lovable cloud are using public URLs from supabase, wouldn't this be a security flaw, do we have any status on this? Also, I'm not seeing the supabase keys within the cloud secrets, I believe that's why they're showing the public edge functions, correct?

I hope someone can help. I have been working a project for 2 months... today in a chat, Lovable said it could update something if I enabled Lovable Cloud. So I did. The result, it disconnected my project from my supabase project and it won't let me disconnect from Lovable Cloud and then reconnect to the supabase project. I see no optiiont to resolve this and even lovable chat is telling me I cannot reconnect my lovable project to supabase project. Why Lovable would disconnect an existing Supabase project when someone enables an existing lovable project is INSANE! Can anyone help? (edited)

It is not recommended to try to one shot the entire database in an exsting app

I enabled Cloud because Lovable said it could do a simple task for me. Had I know the consequences, I never would have enabled it. Enabling Cloud for a project that already has a supabase SHOULD NOT be allowed unless: 1. Enabling can use the existing Supabase project 2. Enabling can perform a comprehensive migration to a new supabase before the enabling cloud can be complete. I cannot tell you how ANGRY was at this. It cost me hours of work trying to recover from it so I can try to hit a deadline... and consumed numerous credits.

Hi Leivar, I'm not sure if you've tried to make a new project since they Cloud based version has went live, but the database is now "inside" lovable. So you can still interact with it, but it isn't supabase anymore from what I can see. I hope this helps.

Does anyone know if you can run supabase cli against lovable cloud? I doesn't seem like it since you don't have a login. I ran out of credits and didn't really want to add more just to force a rebuild so edges would register.

Can anyone tell me how much of this Supabase stuff is available in Lovable Cloud, which would let me migrate easily: * Vault Secrets available to Edge Functions and Stored Procedures * Stored Procedures can invoke Edge Functions * Edge Functions can assume Service Role * Cron scheduling * Web Socket Realtime subscription to database changes * Single Sign On authentication (Google, O365, Salesforce, etc) * Magic Link login (with the email via an external provider) * Storage buckets, with time-limited non-guessable URLs Does anyone have success with any of this stuff this week? When free AI is over. What is the cost to use Gemini 2.5 Flash image to generate an image?

Hi everyone I'm building a prototype in Lovable where the flow works like this: At the start, the user answers 2-3 initial questions (for example: “What is your job?” and “What task do you want to automate?”). Based on those answers, I want to generate a personalized prompt dynamically. That prompt should then create 6–8 new, highly relevant questions to refine the user's needs (covering things like objectives, audience, tone, constraints, success metrics, etc.). Finally, the answers to those 6–8 questions will be stored and used to generate a tailored plan or workflow for the user. The issue I'm having: I can't figure out how to correctly connect the first answers → custom prompt → dynamic 6–8 questions inside Lovable. Right now I can collect answers, but I don't see how to make the system automatically generate and display the next wave of personalized questions. Does anyone know the best way to set this up in Lovable (Pages, Prompt Library, or Actions)? Thanks a lot

You can't query the db on the cloud yet. You can query Supabase dbs.

My situation: Project has Lovable Cloud enabled Edge Function secrets show: SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY, SUPABASE_DB_URL BUT these secrets are only available within Edge Functions - I need the actual key value to configure Vercel What I've tried: Opened Backend via Lovable → Settings → API Can only see the anon key (publishable key) Cannot find where to view/copy the service_role key Question: How do I access the actual service_role key value for my Lovable Cloud Supabase instance? Is this exposed in the UI somewhere, or do I need to request it through support? Service role key being hidden is a security feature and it's a good job Lovable don't reveal it in Cloud, if exposed anyone could RWD all data, it's full admin access to your database. The simplest, but not the best practice, would be to use the : SUPABASE_ANON_KEY and then design RLS policies around chart_registry table etc that allow the specific access needed.

Question on lovable cloud. I've been using supabase for storing secret keys, writing edge functions and tables, auth and stuff. I'm a bit confused about what I can do with lovable cloud vs what do I still need to use supabase for. I'm hoping to build something that needs all of the above for the shebuilds hackathon and I'd love some answers around this please. I prefer keeping my edge functions in supabase and not on lovable because it just keeps changing my prompt when I ask it to make some other changes. Would lovable cloud remove this issue or that would still exist and best to keep edge functions in supabase? I am also not a coder but have somehow managed to built stuff learning along the way, so apologies if I am not asking my question correctly (edited)

It calls Supabase Edge Functions behind a shared token, so the service-role key stays inside Supabase. No more supabaseKey errors, no secrets on Vercel.

I have an issue with file upload size restrictions. Loveable Cloud states a 2GB file upload limit, but I have bumped into an issue with this and Lovable states that 'Supabase has infrastructure-level upload limits, uploads larger than 50MB are rejected. Lovable suggests a server side upload via edge funtion. Can someone confirm that the 2GB max file size is real and how to fix this?

Hi, I have a blank page with the error that Supabase url is required, but I am using Cloud! And here is what my Lovable chat recommended: to reach out to Lovable support! "The .env file is already properly managed by Lovable Cloud (doesn't exist as a manual file). The environment variables should be automatically injected. This appears to be a Cloud infrastructure issue where the environment variables aren't being provided to your preview. Project ID: flksyjtzecjiboaznwor I've checked under Authentication → Providers but there's no GitHub option available. I already have my GitHub OAuth App set up with the correct callback URL (https://flksyjtzecjiboaznwor.supabase.co/auth/v1/callback) and have the Client ID and Client Secret ready. Where can I configure the GitHub OAuth provider in Lovable Cloud, or can you enable this for my project?

Furthermore, the config.toml file for supabase is only visible in the lovable code editor if I refresh the page. Once I make a file change, hit save, it disappears unless I refresh the page. Please help me deploy fully the updated code whether editied in lovable or github

The only thing that seems to work is if the agent does the deployment but there MUST (or should) be a way for the user to edit code and deploy.
